Let's Get Dirty: The Culmination of the 2009 Oneupweb Rebrand Process

Posted by Maureen on February 18, 2009 at 11:57 am

After months of hard work, brain cells popping, hair loss among both sexes and many a sleepless night, it’s finally here. Our brand new, never-before-seen, groundbreaking website.

I’ll give you a minute to let the importance of this announcement sink in (at least, it’s of utmost-importance to our four designers, and entire marketing team, who worked tirelessly to get it done. Bravo!).

So what on Earth are you waiting for? You really shouldn’t even read anymore of this blog until you head over to OneUpWeb.com to check it out. It’s okay. I’ll wait (just don’t forget to come back for a unique play-by-play of the coolest features as decided by me, your handy guide).

Okay, first thing’s first. As if you can ignore the shaking video on our home page with the bold Play on it. Don’t ignore the video! Press play. Trust me. It’s worth it. This is a stop-motion masterpiece. We even got one of our office dogs, Kirby, to make an appearance in a few screens. And did you see the way our Sr. Web/Graphic Designer comes over the top of the couch? That’s not natural (but completely real). Don’t forget to hover over all of the copy links for hidden gems. And oh yeah, the message is kind of important, too. Maybe I should bold it: Search has Changed. And so too, has Oneupweb. Want to find out more? Just download our new position paper. It’s the first item under Making News. Got it? Let’s continue on.

The Who We Are section opens with an actual note duct taped to our wall. The 3B’s – it’s our philosophy. And it’s inherently Oneupweb.

Okay, click on Management. Isn’t it a Marvel? Get it?! One of our designers actually hand-drew each of these management superheroes. True to form? You be the judge. (And Dave just wants everyone to know that the abilities are off because he knows he is faster than Tim. I say, prove it on the softball field.)

The stop-motion video on our Company Culture page is also pretty cool. But I’m a huge fan of the copy, and the song “She Sells Sanctuary.” And our values checklist isn’t too bad either. For those interested in obtaining a position at this completely hip, totally cool company, the Careers page is a must. And don’t forget to check out our awards. We’re pretty proud of them.

Okay, What We Do. This is pretty important. After all, it’s how we make the money around here (if my CEO lets me keep this line, I’ll be shocked). The first thing you absolutely have to look at is the video. It’s our integration molecule. And if you’re interested in any of the 4 services that are flashing before your eyes, feel free to click-through to view the DNA strand. And one thing you’ll notice, all of the social services are included in the search atom. We did that on purpose (see white paper).

If you click on Media Placement, and then Creative Samples, you can see a bit of our real work. I like the superhero campaign, if only because I can remember tying a towel around my neck and proclaiming I could beat up Superman in 2.5 seconds. Ah, memories.

The Case Studies section is also pretty important. We’ve chosen to highlight six clients. Together, these clients encompass the abilities of all of our services, including complete integration. Curious what we can do for you? Give them a look.

The News and Stuff section is a little, well, full. But what can I say? We’re pretty prolific. And look, there’s my Harry Potter effect! Other than press coverage (because I am the PR person), probably the coolest thing in this section is our newsletter video. I bought that blender with visions of margarita’s, not blended newsletters. (Mmmm, margaritas) But check out the power in that thing!

Socially Speaking is probably one of my favorite pages on the entire site. This has our “Dancing Obama” videos, that actually appeared on CNN (and I’ve just received word that the Dragnet style video has won a rather prestigious award. But of course, I can’t tell you that yet.)

Then, there’s the contact us section. Two words of advice – use it (here comes the corporate mumbo-jumbo) Search is changing, and companies need to start optimizing their online presence to be successful. That’s what Oneupweb does. Because your success is our success.

Oh my gosh I almost forgot. The “Share This” button. Now this is really cool. You can actually send a text message to all of your friends, straight from our website. Really. It works. I did it (after work hours, of course). There’s just so much that has gone into this site, I think I’ve forgotten half of it. So please, spend some time getting reacquainted with Oneupweb. And let me know what your favorite (or least favorite) website features are. Let’s keep this social conversation going. Come on. I’m buying margaritas.
